The Ministry of Energy announces the restart of the Paroseni energy group for 14 days
The Ministry of Energy announces the restart of the energy group from Paroșeni on Sunday evening, an important moment that marks the continuous operation of the thermal power plant for the next 14 days.
In recent years, the thermal power plant has operated on a limited basis, two days a week, with very high costs. The program was changed to five days of continuous operation with the Valea Jiului Energy Complex (CEVJ) becoming operational.
The energy complex requires approximately 2000 tons of coal daily for the optimal operation of the energy group. The increase in production by about 200 tons per day in the last period was possible by providing the necessary equipment for the mining units. The effort of the miners and the management of each unit contributed significantly to achieving a daily production of over 800 tons.
Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy: “This moment is not only a result of the new company and management team, but also a testament to the determination to overcome challenges and ensure safe and efficient exploitation of oil. Coal production has already increased by over 40% and we will continue to increase it.
Through sustained effort and continuous innovation, Valea Jiului demonstrates that it is ready to assume a key role in the national energy mix. This success inspires us to continue investing in the re-technology of mining, in compliance with BAT standards, and to ensure that every Romanian benefits from the energy and resources of our country.”
CEVJ benefited from state aid worth 70 million lei for the months of October and November, followed by 350 million lei for the period December 2023 – June 2024. These funds are intended for the activities of making coal mines safe , including consolidating the galleries and abattoirs, upgrading the mining infrastructure and increasing the workforce to comply with international quality standards in mining and occupational safety and security norms.
