The conference Navigating Change: Creating Adaptive Communities, the largest Coaching and Leadership conference in Southeast Europe, took place successfully in Bucharest
In a period where interest in coaching in Romanian organizations is growing, ICF Romania organized the conference “Navigating Change – Creating Adaptive Communities” from March 6-7, 2024, in Bucharest. This conference, already a tradition, is the largest in Southeast Europe, dedicated to coaching and leadership, exploring how communities can play an essential role in transforming society into a more adaptable one by changing mindsets. Another aspect that makes it remarkable is that this conference was organized 100% by volunteers from the coaching community in Romania.
The conference targeted the business environment, human resources professionals, executive directors, coaching experts, non-governmental organizations, and all those interested in coaching or seeking to discover new tools and methods for personal and professional development. The conference will bring together experts and coaches with extensive experience both locally and internationally.
The event featured 16 international speakers from countries such as the USA, the UK, Belgium, Spain, South Africa, and Romania, who shared their experience and knowledge in front of 255 participants. Among the notable keynote speakers were Philippe Rosinski and Richard Boyatzis.
On the first day of the event, March 6, the keynote speaker was Philippe Rosinski, a pioneer in intercultural and global coaching, the author of two reference books in coaching. Philippe Rosinski has an active presence in prestigious academic institutions, including Harvard University and Cambridge University.
On the second day of the conference, another notable keynote speaker, Richard Boyatzis, shared his knowledge. Richard Boyatzis, author, professor, and a top expert in leadership development and emotional intelligence. His research has changed leadership education and contributed to the emergence of a new industry of consultants and coaches. He has collaborated closely with Daniel Goleman, contributing to works that have had international success.
Participants had the privilege of participating in 4 plenary sessions and 12 interactive workshops, covering a wide range of topics, including the power of emotional intelligence in leadership, change management and coaching, alongside perspectives and practical techniques for coaching teams in transition periods, emphasizing the importance of an adaptable and empathetic approach. They also learned strategies for conflict management, maintaining integrity in changing environments, and the benefits of effective and adaptable communication in facilitating personal and organizational development, highlighting the impact of neuroscience on coaching practice and the importance of focusing on vision, awareness, and relationships.
An important moment of the conference was the presentation ceremony of the Prism Award, organized by ICF Romania. This award aims to recognize and reward organizations that actively embrace coaching as an integral part of corporate culture to improve performance. The three finalists this year, OTP Bank, HP, and Banca Transilvania, were in the jury’s attention, and Banca Transilvania was the recipient of this year’s Prism Award trophy.
The NAVIGATING CHANGE: CREATING ADAPTIVE COMMUNITIES conference offered participants five important reasons to attend:
• Understanding how to prepare for and support adaptation to change;
• Facilitating the creation of adaptive communities and their importance;
• How coaching supports adaptation to change;
• The presence of top speakers from Romania and abroad;
