600 children from sector 5 will benefit from financial support through the scholarship program “Education for the future – Tinmar Foundation scholarships”
The City Hall of Sector 5, together with the Tinmar Foundation, is launching the scholarship program “Education for the Future – Tinmar Foundation Scholarships”, a program that aims to stimulate performance in education.
Almost 600 children from Sector 5 will have access to merit scholarships offered by the Tinmar Foundation, in the 2024 school year, each of the 600 scholarships amounting to 100 euros/month for educational activities.
The value of the project is approximately 400,000 euros and it targets children in schools with an average grade above 9.50. In this way, they are supported to continue their educational journey, to discover and develop their individual skills and talents, and to access the opportunities that education offers, ultimately leading to a more equitable and more prosperous for all.
The collaboration between the Town Hall of Sector 5 and the Tinmar Foundation was born naturally, because both the representatives of the Town Hall and those of the Foundation believe that investments in education are fundamental for the sustainable development of the community.
The “Education for the Future – Tinmar Foundation Scholarships” project is intended to be continued in the following school years and expanded nationally. “In every student, we see a promise for our future, and quality education is the key to unlocking this potential. I was born and raised in sector 5, so I feel a deep and personal connection to this community. The partnership between the Foundation Tinmar and the City Hall of Sector 5 is proof of the joint commitment to offer these essential opportunities to young people, in order to build a wiser, fairer and full of opportunity society,” said the President of the Tinmar Foundation, Ionuț Bonoiu.
“Through the close collaboration with the Tinmar Foundation, we join forces to ensure that education becomes a basic pillar in the development of our community. In Sector 5 there are most social cases and many of the children from disadvantaged families do not have the chance for education quality. This project is more than an investment in the future of our young people; it is an investment in the future of Sector 5 and society as a whole. I am committed to supporting and expanding these initiatives so that every child has access to the education they deserve needed to succeed,” is the message sent by the Mayor of Sector 5, Cristian Popescu Piedone.
