Challenges in public space governance in a global ecosystem, debated at the third edition of the international conference “The Future of Governance ” organized by ENVISIA Boards of Elite
The third edition of the international conference “Future of Governance” will bring together more than 15 leading speakers who will debate the challenges in public sector governance viewed from the perspective of the global ecosystem. The conference, organized by Envisia Boards of Elite, will take place on May 13, 2024, at the InterContinental Athénée Palace, and will bring together authorities, regulatory bodies, business representatives from Romania, board members and governance professionals.
With more than 300 participants in the last two editions, Envisia continues to develop and become, through its activities, the international platform that invites practitioners and top decision-makers to share information and best practices, challenges, and scenarios about possible developments in the field of Governance.
“Governance, both at the corporate and state level, is facing paradigm shifts. Simply holding a leadership position is not enough. Within the Envisia Boards of Elite – the community of professional board members – we promote sustainable governance principles, demonstrated by community members who have participated in programs designed exclusively for the professionalization of board members, who lead based on the best international knowledge and best practices high level. In the current context of national elections, macroeconomic and social climates, and ongoing challenges at this time, Board members and business leaders should work together to navigate the current highly complex social, political, and economic ecosystems. Their mandate is to adapt and strengthen corporate strategies, provide support to local communities and, where possible, authorities, ensuring resilience in a time of major change. In 2023, discussions focused on artificial intelligence, quantum computing and digital threats to privacy and security, driven in part by the emergence of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, and became a major topic of debate in terms of impact on the ethics of the Governance ecosystem. This increase in interest is mirrored in the corporate world, with a significant portion of large companies recognizing the importance of using artificial intelligence in their processes. In this context, the implementation of regulations such as the Digital Services Act and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive are reshaping the corporate governance environment, helping it manage geopolitical tensions, rapid technological evolution, and environmental concerns. The international conference “Future of Governance” 2024, which focuses on challenges in the public space, is a platform designed to encourage dialogue on governance from multiple perspectives: geopolitical, strategic, public policy. This event is intended to facilitate the exchange of information, best practices and visions for the future, supporting responsible governance in political, social and economic ecosystems. It is a call to governors and companies, their Supervisory Boards or Boards of Directors, to rise to the level of contemporary challenges, facilitating the development of businesses and communities and implementing sustainable practices in global value chains” – Carmen Micu, CEO & Co-Founder of Envisia.
