Diana Voiculescu, Genpact: “We have a lot of AI solutions that we already have in implementation with our customers”
“Like all players in the market, we also face the same challenges regarding the way employees work. Certain projects we have require a 100 percent presence at the office, but we also have projects where employees can work hybrid or fully remote.
There is a great opportunity through the full remote model to help employees feel that they are part of an ecosystem and to adhere to the company’s culture. At the same time, through this way of working we have the opportunity to access many areas in Romania where there is talent, which are not necessarily cities such as Bucharest, Sibiu, Braşov, Timisoara, Cluj or Iasi,” Diana Voiculescu, Vice President Hi-tech Operations Europe, UK & Africa, Genpact said at Workplace of the Future conference organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“We have people who, for various reasons, are in other cities in Romania. And the talent we can access in those areas is a very good one. There is an opportunity to access talent in areas other than the traditional ones, so that we no longer create concentrations of people only in big cities. Thus, we can help the development of other cities and help the people there to have an exposure to our ecosystem.
There are certain countries where the culture of coming to the office still exists, where this option is preferred and there, we have a higher degree of office occupancy.
There are other countries and other cities where people prefer flexibility. And then we’ve always tried to create a balance. Some of the projects we’ve been working on are content moderation, where we make sure that the digital streets are still safe and that our children are looking at the right things on the Internet. The reason why the wellness and well-being component for these types of projects is very important. From engagement activities, from special wellness areas with relaxation, with massage chairs. We are trying to have pet therapy soon.
We have to come up with various wellness and well-being areas that are suitable for the age, that are suitable for the type of employee we have and that, at the end, bring a well-being area.
We have embraced, probably like many companies in the international market, this whole area of AI and AI technologies. We recently launched the second AI Innovations center in Bucharest, the first being in London.
We have a lot of AI solutions that we already have in implementation with our customers and that start from a co-creation process together with our employees, together with domain specialists, together with IT specialists and together with clients who come with problem.
We have a whole learning structure that starts from each individual employee, in such a way as to bring them to the area where together we co-create, together we innovate and come up with new things, which we then put in an area of solutions that try to solve some customer problems.
If we talk about how the offices of the future will look, the key word should be flexibility. The work environment should meet our needs, and the workspace should be flexible to meet all needs, depending on the generations of employees.”
