“I have been in Romania for more than 10 years and I can say that I spent half of my professional life here. Not only my family ties me to Romania, but also countless moments spent with an extraordinary team during difficult times for modern trade. Together with the Lidl team, I went through the last years of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought with it very big challenges for my colleagues in the stores, who were on the front line, but also through the post-pandemic period which brought considerable challenges in terms of supply chain and price increases. Looking back, the biggest challenge was not passing price increases down the supply chain directly to customers. I am glad that we managed to do this, that we actively contributed to the decrease of inflation in Romania, remaining the first choice of the Romanians. Lidl Romania has a strong, well-trained team, and the company’s success is due to over 12,000 colleagues from all over the country. I trust that they will continue to do a great job and I wish Alberto the best of luck with the Romanian team!”, said Marco Giudici.
