Energy Minister Burduja: “We signed three financing contracts through the Modernization Fund, which will bring tangible changes”
The Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, signed on Monday three financing contracts through the Modernization Fund, for projects aimed at developing capacities to produce energy from renewable sources for self-consumption.
“Today we signed three financing contracts through the Modernization Fund, which will bring tangible changes. These projects are intended to develop energy production capacities from renewable sources for self-consumption. The beneficiaries of these fundings are the Politehnica University of Bucharest, the city of Dărmăneşti from Bacău County and the commune of Dumbrăviţa from Timiş County”, the minister announced on his Facebook page.
According to him, UPB has signed one of the biggest contracts so far, with a total installed power of 7.04 MW, and the City of Dărmanesti and the Commune of Dumbrăviţa are planning similar projects, with a total installed power of 0.39 MW and , respectively, 0.399 MW, which represents almost 70% of own consumption (public lighting, utilities at City Hall, school, dispensary, etc.).
The total value of the projects exceeds 35 million RON, almost the entire amount coming from the Modernization Fund.
“This financial support reflects our commitment to support the reduction of energy costs for public entities and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The installation of a total capacity of 7,829 MW will have a significant impact on these communities and institutions. These projects will reduce costs for beneficiaries, improve the quality of life for local communities and increase energy efficiency in institutions. The final beneficiaries of these projects are always the citizens. They will directly feel the positive effects of these investments, from lower electricity bills to a cleaner and healthier environment”, Sebastian Burduja explained.
