Rețele Electrice Muntenia modernizes the electrical infrastructure in Mogoșoaia and auctions works worth 58.4 million RON
Less than a month after the signing of the non-reimbursable financing contract through the Modernization Fund, the company Rețele Electrice Muntenia launches, through the public procurement information system, the procedure for the acquisition of works worth 58.4 million RON for a project in Mogoșoaia, Ilfov County.
The works will be carried out mainly in Mogoșoaia and, partially, in Chitila, Ilfov, for the benefit of household and non-household customers in these areas. A total of 58 transformer substations will be targeted, of which 25 are existing and 33 are to be installed. The medium voltage network will be modernized and extended over a length of more than 80 km, of which 57 km of cables replaced and 22.6 km newly installed. Also, the low voltage network will be extended by almost 6 km.
“We are simultaneously carrying out several projects around Bucharest, such as the one in Mogoșoaia and another in Balotești, as part of our strategy to modernize the networks and increase their resilience. Our priority is to match our infrastructure with the current consumption and distribution needs of the communities where we are present, therefore we need to increase its capacity for both consumption and electricity production. We are talking about areas that are developing rapidly, and electricity consumption is above the country’s average. For the Mogoșoaia project, we started a tender less than a month after the signing of the financing contract,” said Mihai Pește, general manager of Rețele Electrice.
Following the completion of the project, over 1.600 new customers, respectively over 4,000 new producers will be able to connect to the electricity grid in this area.
The works aim to improve the quality of the electricity distribution service for customers in Mogoșoaia, with a direct influence on grid losses, which will be reduced by approximately 40%, generating a lower local carbon dioxide footprint.
The project has a total value of 61.4 million RON, excluding VAT, of which the maximum insured value from the Modernization Fund is 48.3 million RON.
The deadline for submitting bids is October 2, 2024, and the works will last 24 months from the conclusion of the contract.
