Intelligent Energy Association launches “gas guide” as information tool to prevent accidents caused by improper use of gas installations
The Intelligent Energy Association launched today in Bucharest the “Gas Guide for block administrators and not only” – under the signature of Dumitru Chisăliță, the president of the association, in his capacity as a judicial technical expert – a guiding tool for administrators of buildings with a common installation for the use of natural gas which highlights the legislation that applies to those who contract and use natural gas.
With 15 years of experience as a judicial expert of the Ministry of Justice in the field of oil and gas, the oldest expert in this field in Romania, Dumitru Chisăliță was put in the position of expertizing countless tragic cases. Whether it was gas explosions, carbon monoxide poisoning, building fires, building collapses as a result of detonations caused by gas accumulations, all left behind deaths, injuries or people traumatized by the charges or verdict of the defendant put by the judge for the deeds done by them or for the lack of actions that they had as an obligation. Absolutely all the real estate accident expertise that he has done could have been avoided if the owner, tenant, administrator knew and followed a few simple rules.
“Every year, in Romania, there are approximately 100 explosions caused by the improper use of gas installations, events that produce tragedies both through the loss of human lives and significant material damage. Knowledge and compliance with the legislation in the field of gas installations are fundamental obligations for each of us. Ignorance is no excuse. This work, in the form of a guide, is a valuable tool, intended to facilitate the understanding of legislation and safety regulations, to ensure the correct and safe use of natural gas. Correct information and compliance with the legislation are not only a legal obligation, but also a measure to protect our lives and those of our loved ones,” said Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy, present as a special guest at this event.
“Unfortunately, we found that many of the legal obligations that some of the people who were found guilty of causing certain accidents had, were not known to them. In this context, I considered it useful to create this natural gas guide especially for the administrators of blocks with common gas installations, a separate category of gas customer and at the same time bringing together a very large number of accidents from the number of accidents that happened in Romania” said Dumitru Chisăliță, President of the Intelligent Energy Association.
The “Gas Guide for block administrators and more”, was published by the Bucharest Didactic and Pedagogical Publishing House and will be distributed free of charge as part of the campaign to prevent natural gas accidents in residential blocks, part of the “Consumer Academy”, project of Intelligent Energy Association. The guide can also be ordered on the publisher’s website starting on September 5, 2024.
