Distributie Oltenia has completed the modernization project of the 110/20 kW Prundu transformer station in Arges county. The project also involved the modernization of several transformer stations and the installation of smart meters at over 10,000 places of consumption.
The modernization of the 110/20kV Transformer Station is part of the 7 projects financed by European Funds through the Large Infrastructure Operational Program. It was submitted for approval in December 2019 and has a value of over 77 million RON, of which 82 percent represents the value of European funds.
Through its development strategy, Distribuție Oltenia aims to improve the level of safety in electricity distribution and reduce energy losses, thus supporting the transition to a more efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure.
“Distributie Oltenia’s vision is to become a modern and flexible company, capable of integrating new technologies and, at the same time, serving consumer requirements. We currently have 20 projects with a value of 248.2 million Euro contracted through the “Fund for Modernization” program. Six of these consider the modernization of some transformer stations. Through these projects, we are one step closer to the digitalization of the company, one of the basic pillars of the Oltenia Distribution strategy. The consumer is at the center of our activity, and the investments we plan and make are aimed at ensuring services at high quality standards.” Ondrej Safar, CEO Evryo Group.
The Prundu station supplies the South-Eastern part of Pitesti, with approximately 13,000 places of consumption (over 25,000 inhabitants), of which smart meters have been installed at over 10,000 places of consumption.
