TenarisSilcotub awards students from prestigious technical universities in the country, through the Roberto Rocca Scholarship Program
The program, already in its 19th edition, has supported 685 students so far.
TenarisSilcotub confirms its long-term support for education and supports the career opportunities of students from the most prestigious technical universities in the country.
This year, under the concept “AI for tomorrow: Transforming Industries, Creating Careers”, the company awarded 1,500 lei/month, during the academic year, to 15 students from the Cluj-Napoca Technical University and 5 students from the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest.
“Digital transformation and artificial intelligence are significantly impacting the labor market and existing jobs, and we are witnessing accelerated changes. The jobs of the future may not exist in the job catalog today, therefore in order to cope with these changes, we will have to be able to adapt to the requirements. “Adaptability will make the difference, so I advise you to be open to new experiences and try to learn from them”, said Mihaela Popescu, President of Tenaris Eastern Europe, the North Sea and Sub-Saharan Africa.
This year’s scholarship award ceremony had Andrei Tulbure as special guest, PhD student with over 200 international citations of his work, former winner of a Roberto Rocca scholarship and currently AI director at the StockRX start-up .
He urged the students now receiving the scholarship, “to think about how they can grow with this scholarship, invest in their passions, find things they like – in college it’s much easier to experiment and you find the niche you like”. Winners of the Roberto Rocca scholarships are selected based on the academic results of the previous year, but also through the lens of skills shown in assessment centers, extremely important aspects throughout a professional career.
Once selected, young people can also explore other programs that TenarisSilcotub offers to students, such as internships, or the Global Trainee Program, for those who want to take the first steps in their career.
