Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja: “More than a technical necessity, the modernization of district heating networks is essential for achieving sustainable development objectives and means an investment in the well-being of our communities, to ensure optimal thermal comfort in Romanians’ homes.
Through this financing program for the modernization of district heating networks, we want to support projects that aim to increase energy efficiency, reduce polluting emissions and improve the quality of life of citizens. Investments in the modernization of district heating systems will bring multiple benefits, including: optimizing thermal energy consumption, reducing heating costs for consumers, reducing pollution and improving air quality, increasing safety in the operation of facilities, supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Romania is a European champion in attracting non-reimbursable financing from the Modernization Fund, as a result of the efforts of the last two years, and we will continue to support the modernization of the Romanian energy system through this historic opportunity that our country has.”
