E.ON Romania targets 1 million customers in the energy solutions and services segment by the end of 2025
E.ON Energie România continued to develop its business in the energy solutions and services segment last year, in addition to natural gas and electricity supply services, with the number of customers exceeding 860,000 since the company entered this segment in 2016.
The company wants to reach one million customers by the end of 2025.
Of this total, 100,000 customers chose energy solutions for heating and cooling homes with thermal power plants or heat pumps, photovoltaic systems for green energy production, charging stations for electric cars.
Of these, about 60 percent chose the heating solution with condensing boilers (E.ON Life), which have an efficiency of 108 percent and can bring savings on consumption of up to 30 percent, under certain conditions of use. For example, last year, the company installed, on average, about 23 heating plants per day.
“We have definitely surpassed the moment when E.ON Energie România was only a supplier of natural gas and electricity. This year we expect to exceed 1 million customers who have opted for our energy solutions and services, bringing added value to our businesses. I want to assure them that we will continue to offer them the best energy and supply solutions,” said Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie România.
At the same time, cooling solutions with air conditioners with Inverter technology (E.ON Cool), with up to 33 percent lower electricity consumption compared to classic ones, are popular among the company’s customers, with about 30,000 of them opting for this solution in the last four years. For example, last year, demand for the company’s cooling solutions increased by over 50 percent compared to 2023, with an average of 25 devices being installed daily.
The company also set records in terms of PV system installations (E.ON Solar Home), with over 4,700 customers choosing E.ON’s installation solutions and services to produce their own energy. Last year, the company’s specialists installed 3,600 systems, ten per day and nine times more than in 2023, successfully covering all customers with a validated AFM (Environmental Fund Administration) file who selected E.ON in the 2023 session.
Significant progress was also made on the e-mobility side, with the company installing over 120 public and private electric car charging points last year, thus exceeding the 560 units installed so far in Romania. If before 2020, an average of 20 to 30 charging points for electric cars were installed annually, then the pace increased to over 100, i.e. approximately 4-5 times more.
