DEER invests over 97 million RON in the modernization of the electricity distribution infrastructure in Maramureș

Distributie Energie Electrica Romania is carrying out an investment project to expand and modernize the electricity distribution network in the northern historical area of Maramureș County. The investment is financed from the Modernization Fund by the European Commission through the Ministry of Energy.
With a total project value of over 97 million RON, the main objective of the investment is to ensure the continuity of the electricity supply, in safe conditions, to consumers and producers in the area, while also ensuring the necessary infrastructure for connecting new users.
The main works of the investment, with an expected completion date of March 31, 2026, consist of the expansion and modernization of the electricity networks for over 10,000 consumers in Sighetu Marmației, Sarasău, Câmpulung la Tisa, Săpânța, Bocicoiu Mare, Valea Cufundoasa, Valea Hotarului, Iapa, Rona de Jos, Rona de Sus, Bârsana, Strâmtura, Poienile Izei, Văleni, Slătioara, Glod, Botiza, Tisa, Crăciunești and Rozavlea.
The DEER strategy aims to improve the quality of the distribution service, reduce the frequency and duration of unplanned interruptions, as well as the modernization, automation and digitalization of the electricity networks, in order to promptly and efficiently respond to current requirements.
