E.ON Romania built 34 photovoltaic power plants with a total capacity of 11.5 MWp last year

E.ON Energie Romania completed and handed over, on a turnkey basis, 34 photovoltaic power plants last year for as many partner companies operating in various industrial sectors, the total value of the projects reaching almost 10 million euros.
With a total installed capacity of 11.5 MWp, the photovoltaic power plants produce about 14 GWh of renewable electricity annually, a quantity that would be sufficient to power about 11,600 homes.
The PV plants provide partner companies with a certain degree of energy independence and contribute to protecting the environment by reducing CO2 emissions by over 3,200 tons per year.
“We aim to be the preferred partner of companies in Romania, of any size, small, medium or large, for turnkey energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions. The over 400 companies that have chosen us to date as a partner for the construction of photovoltaic plants show that we are on the right track to achieving our goal,” says Claudia Griech, CEO of E.ON Energie Romania.
For example, for Agricola International, from Bacău County, one of the most important players in the meat industry, the four photovoltaic power plants built have a total installed capacity of 1,998 MWp and produce 2,288 GWh of renewable energy annually, while saving around 718 tons of CO2 emissions.
For Continental Automotive Romania, in Timiș County, E.ON has put into operation a photovoltaic system with an installed power of 655 kWp, consisting of 1,440 panels, which will provide, annually, about 715 MWh of renewable electricity and a reduction in CO2 emissions by about 152 tons each year.
For Agrosel, a company in Cluj County that operates in the vegetable sector, E.ON has built three photovoltaic plants with a total installed power of 1,146 kWp that together generate 1.433 GWh of solar energy per year, covering 45% of the company’s energy needs.
Currently, the company has 18 other similar projects underway, the company offering turnkey solutions, designed to meet the needs and consumption profile of its customers.
In the non-residential segment, E.ON Energie Romania’s portfolio of photovoltaic generation projects includes over 392 completed projects, worth a total of 74 million euros. The total photovoltaic energy production is over 104 GWh per year, and CO2 emissions are reduced by approximately 23,000 tons each year.
