Hidroelectrica proposes to distribute dividends of 4.04 billion RON

Hidroelectrica proposes distributing dividends of 4.04 billion RON, according to a press release sent by the company. The Hidroelectrica Group recorded a decrease in operational and financial results in 2024, compared to 2023, mainly influenced by less favorable hydrological conditions, which led to reduced hydropower production and affected the volume of energy available for sale. The group’s performance remained in line with the objectives set in the approved budget for 2024, with a marginal adjustment compared to estimates.
Despite the challenges of 2024, Hidroelectrica continued to explore development opportunities in the renewable energy market, including with a view to acquiring stakes and developing new renewable electricity production capacities. The company maintains its commitment to being 100% green and will continue to focus on investing in projects where profitability exceeds the cost of capital, according to the statement.
At the same time, the company’s management proposes for the approval of the AGM the distribution of profit and a gross dividend in a total amount of RON 4,043,229,023, with a gross dividend per share of RON 8.988897.
“We continue to explore opportunities for renewable and storage capacity acquisitions. In 2024, we made investments worth RON 600 million and signed the contract for the refurbishment of the Vidraru power plant (EUR 188 million). Looking towards 2025, we have assumed an ambitious budget of RON 1.7 billion, maintaining the alert pace of investments,” said Karoly Borbely, CEO of Hidroelectrica.
