Sphera Group invests 1.2 million euros in the first KFC unit with photovoltaic panels

Sphera Franchise Group inaugurates the first unit in its portfolio equipped with photovoltaic panels, following an investment of approximately 1.2 million euros. The restaurant is a KFC Drive Thru, located in Galați, and marks the first opening in the Group’s extensive expansion plan for 2025.
“For the first time for us, we are inaugurating the first KFC restaurant with photovoltaic panels. It is an action that aligns with our sustainability strategy, complementing the other measures taken so far, but also the innovative spirit of the brand. With the help of solar panels, we will significantly reduce energy consumption from external sources. We become more efficient and more environmentally friendly”, explained Marian Gogu, General Manager of KFC Romania.
The photovoltaic panels in the KFC Drive Thru Galați restaurant are mounted on the roof of the parking lot and have an installed capacity of 47.5 kW. The company estimates that they will cover approximately 50% of the unit’s energy needs.
