Romanian dietary supplement producer invested 2 million euros in new laboratory for research and production

COSMO PHARM, one of Romania’s leading dietary supplement producers, has launched a new laboratory for supplement research and production, built to the highest European and international standards (GMP – Good Manufacturing Practices).
The 2 million euros investment is part of the company’s broader strategy to increase output at its Ilfov facility by up to 40 percent, in response to rising demand for high-quality natural supplements both locally and internationally.
The new high-tech lab sets a benchmark for the industry, integrating advanced technologies to optimize both manufacturing and R&D. Covering more than 700 square meters, the facility features ISO 8 Clean Rooms and cutting-edge HVAC systems that maintain a sterile, controlled environment.
“The launch of this next-generation lab underscores COSMO PHARM’s commitment to excellence, safety, and high-performance operations. More than just meeting international standards, the lab is built to serve today’s informed consumers—those who expect uncompromising quality,` said Alina Elena Birău, Commercial Director at COSMO PHARM.
Following this investment, the company plans to launch 40 new formulas in 2025, based on the latest scientific research, expanding its product portfolio to approximately 220 dietary supplements. Of these, 70 are registered trademarks, covering a broad spectrum of health needs—from immune support and joint health to digestion, cognitive function, anti-aging, and overall wellness.
COSMO PHARM aims to grow its market share in Romania by 10–15 percent in 2025 and boost exports by 25 percent by strengthening its presence in China, Vietnam, the UAE, and Western Europe. The company also plans to enter the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland).
