The current development of the Electricity Transmission Grid (RET) requires expediting the stages of power infrastructure projects with a view to provide gradual transition to neutral economy in terms of carbon emissions. To reconfigure the power system and the electricity transmission network in accordance with the new lines established in the European legislative packages Green Deal and Fit for 55, the achievement targets of investment plans implemented by CNTEE Transelectrica SA should exceed those already planned. The energy transition requires fast adaptation of the electricity transmission grid and its enhanced extension as provided in the 2020 – 2029 RET Development Plan.
In this context Romania’s Government has recently approved, upon proposal from the Secretariat General of Government, the coordinating public authority of CNTEE Transelectrica SA, a Memorandum including a Company Action Plan providing essential investment projects for the consolidation of the electricity transmission network.
In addition several meetings have been organised lately with the representatives of the Secretariat General of Government, the Ministry of Energy and CNTEE Transelectrica SA. Discussions led to the common conclusion with respect to the need to simplify the implementation of projects of national importance in the electricity domain.
In this respect both public central authorities and CNTEE Transelectrica SA will proceed in the near future to take steps and expedite the accomplishment of the fore-mentioned projects so that Romania can reach its European objectives in the 2030 – 2050 time horizons.
