RWEA wants 5,000 miners to be converted into renewable energy specialists
RWEA, together with its companies such as Monsson – RESS and CEZ Romania, the Ministry of Energy and the University of Petrosani, are planning to open an Academy for Renewable Sources and Distribution of Electricity in the Jiu Valley. The Academy aims at accessing the funds available through the Transboundary Carboniferous Platform, for a ten-year project of converting 5,000 miners into renewable energy specialists.
RWEA says that technical and professional skills of mining technicians are easily transferable to the renewable energy and energy distribution sectors, and certifications from training and reconversion courses will enable them to work in the installation, operation and maintenance of renewable projects and electrical networks from all over the world, with attractive salary benefits.
