Transelectrica’s profit down by 10 percent in first semester
The net profit of Transelectrica decreased by 10 percent in the first half of 2021, compared to the similar period last year, to 104 million RON. The result was recorded in terms of an advance of 30 percent of operating revenues, to 1.422 billion RON.
Transelectrica’s revenues increased mainly due to the increase in the amount of energy delivered to consumers, the increase in the average transport tariff and the increase in revenues from the balancing market. The company states in its half-yearly report that the expenses to cover its own technological consumption increased by 55 percent (63 million RON), due to the increase of this consumption as such by 30 percent compared to H1 2020, as well as the advance by almost 80 percent of the average price. of electricity purchased from the spot market.
The company has made investments of over 242 million RON in the first 6 months of the year, representing a degree of realization of the program of 55.8 percent, but also a doubling compared to the investment expenses from January-June 2020.
