Alexandru Nen, Telekom: “We want to play the role of integrator in this market of smart city solutions”
“A few years ago, we started pilot projects in three cities in Romania, respectively Bucharest, Constanta and Piatra Neamt for smart city solutions. It was very important to develop our portfolio of such smart city solutions as a player on the telecom market,” Alexandru Nen, Solutions Architect, Smart City & Iot Solutions, Telekom said during Smart Transformation Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“We have solutions implemented in areas such as energy efficiency, intelligent lighting, electricity generation, urban mobility, waste management, digitalization of administration. A very important area for us is the integration and interoperability part. 5G technology provides an integration layer for all radio technologies that will be offered at the level of a city’s solutions. 5G will come as a glove for any type of use of radio communications for smart city solutions.
We are open to new technologies, we test them, we want to play the role of integrator in this market of smart city solutions. It is very important for the authorities to use interoperability to manage the services provided to citizens.”
