Mihai Mardale, Enel X Romania: “The authorities must issue clear legislation for the e-mobility sector to grow”
“The charging of electric cars must have a clearer regulation, so that this sector registers a faster development. Authorities must clearly establish the difference between electric mobility services and energy supply. This definition, which we will agree on, will also help the market to develop,” Mihai Mardale, Head of e-Mobility, Enel X Romania said during e-Mobility Forum 2021 organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“At a charging station we talk about the mobility services that a company offers to the owners of electric cars. From our point of view, the authorities must issue clear legislation for this field to grow.
When we talk about charging infrastructure for electric cars, we need to think about how this infrastructure can be used by customers. For example, there are certain public charging stations, installed by mayors, that cannot be used by customers for various reasons. Lack of sufficient energy or lack of maintenance are among these reasons. We must offer electric car users all the tools to enjoy a pleasant experience at charging stations. Here we can talk for example about an app in which the customer can see where the charging stations are located. We can also offer customers the possibility to reserve a certain station so that they can charge their cars when they arrive at that place.
We also offer smart solutions for those who want to install a charging station at home or at the office.
I could say that electric vehicles are not only the future, but also the present. We want to encourage the development of the public network of charging stations.”
