Daniela Vercellino, Societe Generale GSC: “We are working to build a new employee value proposition”
“Our lives look very different now compared to one and a half year ago. We are trying to shift into a new paradigm. This is the new normality, and the pandemic will still be here with us for some time. This is the new reality, and we can’t really predict how the virus can evolve and how it can impact us. Since last year, we have shifted our mindset towards employee wellbeing, mental health, and what kind of support we can offer to our employees, our managers to deal with the new reality,” Daniela Vercellino, HR Director Societe Generale Global Solution Centre said during People Empowering Business Forum 2021 organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“Empathy and compassion drive performance. In order to cope with this new reality, we are working currently to build a new employee value proposition.
We need to put more of the today’s reality into this employee value proposition. We have continued our HR programs on the talent management side for example. We have worked a lot in this last year to develop a reskilling program. It was necessary to cope with this attrition on the market, with retaining talents, to offer them the possibility of changing their jobs or embracing new careers. We have done this for around 400 people. We have supported our colleagues going into new careers, new realities. The pandemic has offered us much more opportunities to do bold things.
Work from anywhere brings access to a diverse pool of talent but we’ll need to incorporate this in the new aspects of how we will promote the culture of the company and how we will still build our team spirit in a fully virtual concept.
My advice for HR professionals is to start using more predictive analytics.”
