Yango e-hailing app launches in Romania, first in Bucharest
Yango, an e-hailing digital app currently operating in 16 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, was launched Thursday in Bucharest. Romania is thus the fifth country of the European Union in which the service is available, after Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland.
The trips ordered through the application start from the promotional price of 5 lei, which includes the reservation of the car, a distance of 3 kilometers and a duration of 7 minutes.
The minimum race is 5 lei, 2 times less than Uber, the price is 1.5 lei per kilometer and 0.2 lei per minute. Yango does not have a dynamic fare, but will be introduced in the future.
The application calculates the exact price that the customer will pay for a ride after entering the destination. Yango claims that the price will not change during the race, even if the car is stuck in traffic or if the driver is on a bypass route.
Yango does not have his own cars or drivers, but works with local partners and transport companies in Bucharest.
