The Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Romania) is organizing the tenth edition of the “Cities of Tomorrow” conference, in hybrid format, between April 5-12, 2022.
The main event will take place on Tuesday, April 12, at the Crowne Plaza Bucharest Hotel. “Cities of Tomorrow” is a landmark event dedicated to urban and regional development. At this year’s edition, around 250 participants are expected, coming from both the public and the private environment.
The event will be honored by the presence of special guests from Germany and Romania: public administration, civil society and the private sector will talk in two panels dedicated to the retrospective: What has happened in Romanian cities and regions in the last 10 years? What did we learn together? Where are we now and what is the vision for the future?

AHK Romania continues this year the concept of online round tables, which allows participants a more intense involvement, giving them the opportunity for two hours to discuss concretely and apply different topics and projects, chosen according to the topicality and need of the topic and find ideas. and concrete solutions that they can implement in their own projects. The conclusions and insights resulting from the nine round tables will be the basis for future action. The nine roundtables have already taken place online from April 5 to 7.

Relevant to the success of this event is both what happens in the days of the event, but especially what happens later, how the participants understand to use the exchange of ideas, experience and contacts gained during the conference Cities of Tomorrow. After the interactive roundtable discussions, the participants will gather on April 12 for a short presentation of the solutions identified on each round table and for the award ceremony of the winning projects.
Prior to this 10th edition of #CitiesofTomorrow, a project competition was organized for public administration, business and civil society. We took into account, in the delimitation of the projects that reached the final, the factor of sustainable development. With the help of a jury of highly experienced personalities, 9 finalists have been established – so 9 initiatives will enjoy special attention on the occasion of this conference.
The nine finalist projects that will be presented during the pitching session at the conference are:
