Delgaz Grid completes the modernization works at the Stanilești and Murgeni transformer stations in Vaslui county
- The objectives are part of the modernization project of five transformer stations in Vaslui county: Huși, Stănilești, Vetrișoaia, Fălciu and Murgeni;
- The total value of the investment is over 31 million lei;
- The quality of the electricity distribution service will be improved for the more than 40,000 customers fed from the five stations;
The replacement works of some high and medium voltage equipment at the Stănilești and Murgeni transformer stations have been completed. Also, the necessary conditions were created for the integration into SCADA (control and remote data acquisition) of the two objectives that are part of the modernization project of five stations in Vaslui county.
The investment of over 31 million lei is co-financed with approximately 19.4 million lei from the European Regional Development Fund (through POIM 2014-2020, Priority Axis 6: Promoting clean energy and energy efficiency in order to support an economy with low emissions carbon), as well as approximately 3.4 million lei from the national budget, the contribution of the Delgaz Grid company being over 8 million lei, including VAT.
The project, launched in 2019, runs for a period of four years and has the main objective of increasing the safety of taking over electricity produced from renewable resources by reducing the number of interruptions, reducing the amount of undelivered electricity and reducing the maintenance costs of the distribution network. At the same time, the quality of the distribution service will be improved for the more than 40,000 customers who are fed from the stations included in the project.
Investment projects with European funds Accessing European funding sources is a priority for the Delgaz Grid company in order to achieve the objectives of modernization and digitization of the electricity distribution infrastructure. At this moment, eight projects worth about 205 million lei (about 42 million euros), with co-financing of 153 million lei (about 31 million euros), are in various stages of implementation. Four projects involving the modernization of three transformer stations from Iași County, five transformer stations from Vaslui County, two from Botoşani County and two from Suceava County are currently in various phases of implementation in order to take over electricity produced from renewable resources.
Two other projects, aimed at modernizing the distribution network and installing 10,000 smart meters for consumers, are underway in the municipalities of Iasi and Suceava. Also, two projects with European funding are being implemented, one of which aims to strengthen the digital skills of the staff, and the second aims at cyber security objectives.
Delgaz Grid, the distribution company within the German E.ON Group, operates a 24,000 km natural gas network in 20 counties from the North and West of Romania (Cluj, Bistrița Năsăud, Maramureș, Satu Mare, Sălaj, Timiș , Arad, Bihor, Caraș-Severin, Hunedoara, Mureș, Sibiu, Alba, Harghita, Iasi, Botoșani, Vaslui, Suceava, Neamț and Bacău) and an electricity network of 83,000 km in six counties in Moldova: Bacău, Botoșani, Iasi , Neamţ, Suceava and Vaslui. Since entering the local market in 2005, E.ON has invested over 1.9 billion euros, mainly for the modernization of the gas and electricity networks, and transferred taxes and duties of 2.7 billion euros to the state.
