Daniela Vercellino, Societe Generale GSC Romania: “The future is about flexibility and permanent change”
“We reached a total of 2,900 employees in Romania. The pandemic has not changed much the way our employees work. Before the pandemic, we had flexible working methods, and employees could work from home when they wanted. The pandemic only meant an increase in the number of days worked from home.
The main argument for the return of employees to the office is socialization, which is very important. Equally important is the connection with colleagues and the fact that you feel that you are part of a team. The creativity and innovation were a little affected during this pandemic period,” Daniela Vercellino, COO Societe Generale GSC Romania said during Workplace of the Future conference organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“The key concept in this period is flexibility. The future is about flexibility and permanent change.
Flexibility exists within our company, but we keep our desire to come to the office at least 4 days a month. We want to have meaningful meetings between colleagues and teams, not just to mark on the calendar that I came to the office on certain days of the month.
The office must represent the organizational culture of the company, the orientation of the leadership and integrate the new technologies. The biggest challenge is to respond as much as possible to the needs of the employees through the space you make available.
We are responsible for creating valuable members of the community they belong to. The mission of companies is to help people develop beyond the concept of employees. It must help them develop as members in a community.”
