Distributie Energie Electrica Romania reveals investment program of 100 million euros annually
Distributie Energie Electrica Romania – DEER, a member company of the Electrica Group, has committed to implement an ambitious investment program for 2023. DEER has planned investments of around 100 million euros, annually, from its own funds or bank loans. One of the strategic objectives assumed for the next period is to increase the level of access to non-reimbursable funds for investment works.
Mihaela Rodica Suciu, DEER General Manager: “Last year was a very difficult one, with many challenges and critical situations, the lack of cash flow being one of our biggest problems. Nevertheless, we fulfilled our assumed investment program, worth 500 million lei. The fact that ANRE decided this year to increase distribution tariffs, as required by law, will allow us to implement an even more ambitious investment plan, more than 15% higher than in 2022, according to our estimates. Our concern is to calibrate our investments very well, so that we achieve what we set out to do, but without demanding too much from customers, in order not to increase their bills, given the fact that, according to European and national legislation, investments are recovered by tariff.”
For DEER, the first steps are the start of the implementation of projects financed from community funds (SAP, AMS, MDM, etc.), the signing of contracts for DEER – Advanced Asset Management System (AAMS) hardware and software systems, the collection of asset data in the homogeneous areas of Bihor, Mureș and Galați, as well as the implementation of ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) type integration platforms, including software implementation and customization services for adaptation to the company’s business processes.
In the medium term, DEER plans – in addition to continuing the modernization of the network infrastructure – to accelerate digitization, develop alternative channels for interactions with users, as well as create a modern work environment for employees, by implementing the concept of Digital Distribution.
DEER developed and put in public consultation the Electric Distribution Network Development Plan (RED) for the next ten years, 2024-2033, which requires the approval of the National Energy Regulatory Authority.
The investments made by DEER in 2022, from its own sources, were worth about 500 million lei. These are aimed at improving the quality of the distribution service and increasing operational efficiency, through the modernization and automation of facilities, to optimize the quality of services offered to users.
