Electromontaj expands on the West European market through a new energy infrastructure project
The Electromontaj Group announces the start of a new partnership on the Western European market, with the Finnish national electricity transmission operator, Fingrid , for the construction of a new high voltage line on the territory of Finland.
After winning the tender, Electromontaj signed the contract for the implementation of the 400 + 100 kV high-voltage overhead line Huittinen – Forssa .
The 400 kV + 100 kV overhead power line between Huittinen and Forssa , 69 kilometers long, will increase the electricity transmission capacity between the west and south coasts of Finland, allow better maintenance and reliability of the main energy transmission network, thus minimizing interruptions in the supply of electricity, contributing to the realization of the European Union’s plan to increase the capacity of electricity production by increasing and improving the existing electricity network in order to achieve the emission reduction targets until 2050.
The project which starts in 2023 and will end in 2025, consists in the construction of a 400 kV line and another 110 kV line, the preparation of the land for construction, including demolishing any kind of constructions on the route that the new line will travel, but also the relocation of an already existing line, 100 kV Kolsi-Fors .
For this line, 261 towers will be required for the 400 kV segment and 31 for the 110 kV segment, which will be produced in Electromontaj’s own production unit, the Galvanized Lattice Tower Factory in Bucharest.
“Entering the Finnish market means for us a new validation of the quality of the execution of projects of this kind, and I am convinced that we will open a new chapter of the journey to the operational excellence of Electromontaj. Winning tenders in this highly regulated field, in other countries of the European Union, where competition with local companies is fierce, is a recognition of the quality of professional training and exceptional experience of our team”, says Ionuț Tănăsoaica, General Manager of Electromontaj.
The new project in Finland joins Electromontaj’s other ongoing international projects won through tenders, including projects to rewire high-voltage overhead lines in the Netherlands for national electricity transmission operator Tennet or to modify overhead power lines in Jordan, for the electricity transmission operator NepCo .
On a local level, Electromontaj has over 200 active projects for the realization of the infrastructure necessary for the transport of electricity both through high-voltage, overhead and underground lines, as well as power stations, wind farms, urban traction projects, railway traction, re-engineering hydroelectric plants, but also electrical infrastructure for irrigation systems.
