The Ministry of Energy signed 15 contracts for new electricity production capacities from renewable sources
The Ministry of Energy signed 15 contracts for investments in new electricity production capacities from renewable sources, through the National Recovery and Resilience Program.
“Investments are the zero priority of my mandate. We accelerated the dynamics of evaluation and contracting of projects submitted within the PNRR and the Modernization Fund. The responsible department has extended hours in the evenings and on weekends. This is how we have so far signed contracts worth 497 million euros on the PNRR, for an installed power of 620MW in solar and wind energy utilization capacities, respectively 842MW in new gas groups,” said Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Energy.
“Through the Modernization Fund, we financed projects worth over 6.2 billion euros, including new solar and wind farms and gas groups with a total installed capacity of 1210 MW. All these investments generate jobs and development for Romanians, and when put into operation, they will reduce the cost of electricity. We are in the midst of an energy revolution, and we are fully committed to making Romania the regional leader in this strategic sector.”
