Hidroelectrica completes the modernization of ten 110kV electrical stations in SH Hațeg
Hidroelectrica announces the completion of the modernization process of ten 110kV electrical stations in SH Hațeg. The investment worth 12.5 million RON (without VAT) was made in less than 2 years.
The 110 kV power stations that were modernized were put into operation between 1986 and 1992, having the role of discharging the electricity produced by several hydroelectric plants. Over time, their equipment has become obsolete, generating significant maintenance costs and delays in the operation of the associated hydroelectric plants.
The modernization of the stations was carried out in stages, to avoid energy losses. The works were completed in December 2023, and the commissioning of the ten stations is scheduled for February 14, 2024, after 72 hours of testing.
“We strongly believe that innovation and change are the keys to organizational transformation. Modernization brings significant benefits, representing not only an improvement but also a radical change in approach. By increasing automation, improving the safety and availability of power stations, streamlining, and reducing maintenance costs, we focus on a complete transformation. Digitization of processes is essential in this evolution, and this project represents a significant contribution to the operational efficiency and sustainability of the country’s energy infrastructure. In Hidroelectrica, we are dedicated to change for a more sustainable and efficient future.” – Karoly Borbely, CEO Hidroelectrica
