SAPE to finalize a 5 MW photovoltaic park in Valea Calugareasca
The Energy Participation Administration Company (SAPE) will complete, in May 2024, a photovoltaic park in Valea Calugareasca (Prahova County), the first investment made from PNRR funds by an energy company owned by the Romanian state. The value of the investment is almost 35 million RON, of which about 7.5 million RON non-refundable funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
“SAPE is a green energy producer and continues to be actively involved in the development of renewable energy production capacities. The execution contract was signed at the end of August 2023, and now the last works are being done, so that, in April, that is, after only 8 months from the start of the project, the photovoltaic park will become functional. This is a clear proof that even companies in which the Romanian state is a shareholder can be an example of speed and good practices,” said Bogdan Nicolae Stanescu, President of the SAPE Directorate.
SAPE also owns two wind farms, CEE Horia (Constanța County), with a capacity of 7.5 MW, and CEE Curcubata (Alba County), with a capacity of 15 MW.
“At this moment, we are in full development process, the total installed capacity being 27.5 MW, and the production – about 40,000 MWh annually. Our strategy is to become a significant producer by 2026, to have 100-150 MW installed in renewable energy sources”, said Bogdan Nicolae Stanescu.
