Orange Romania Group recorded a turnover of 699 million euros, down 7.7 percent in the first semester
In the first six months of 2024, the Orange Romania Group achieved a consolidated turnover of 699 million euros, down 7.7 percent compared to the first semester of 2023.
On June 30, 2024, the Orange Romania Group offered mobile services to 9.3 million customers, fixed broadband internet to 1.1 million customers, and cable and satellite television services to 1.1 million customers.
The semester was marked by the completion of the merger between Orange Romania S.A. (ORO) and Orange Romania Communications S.A. (OROC), through the absorption of OROC by ORO, which allowed the creation of an integrated converged telecommunications operator, starting from June 1, 2024.
At the end of June 2024, 4G coverage reached 98.79 percent of the population, and 4G+ coverage reached 83.13 percent. The 5G/5G+ network, with the fastest transfer speeds of up to 1.5 Gbps, has expanded in Pitesti this semester, and the total number of cities with 5G presence has increased to 39.
“The first semester of 2024 was an intense one, marked by a moment of particular importance for the company: the completion of the merger between Orange Romania and Orange Romania Communications, which allowed the creation of an integrated convergent telecommunications operator. We would not have been able to complete this stage without the efforts of all our colleagues in Orange, who have worked even more alertly in recent months for this purpose, and for this I thank them all. We are now channeling all our energy to ensure that our operational efforts are also reflected in the experience our customers have at the points of interaction with our brand.
For the coming months, the pressure factor to improve our performance is there, but we are confident that the strategy we have started to implement will allow us to achieve better results and better adapt to market challenges. Despite these, we remain dedicated to operational excellence, keeping customers at the center of our business and intensifying social responsibility actions,” said Julien Ducarroz, CEO of Orange Romania.
