Transelectrica partially commissioned the new station in Reșita
Transelectrica announced the partial commissioning of the new 400 kV Reșita station, which will increase the interconnection capacity with the network in Serbia by up to 300 MW.
“In the renovation project of the Reșița Station, the partial commissioning of the new 400 kV Reșița station was completed these days, a stage that will allow the commercial operation of a circuit of the Reșiţa (RO) 400 kV Overhead Electric Line interconnection starting tomorrow – Pancevo (RS), as well as the 400 kV Overhead Power Line Portile de Fier – (Anina) – Resita. The entry into commercial operation of the interconnection line with Serbia leads to the increase of the interconnection capacity by up to 300 MW.
The renovation works of the Reșița Power Station, carried out by the Siemens Energy SRL Association, Electrogrup SA and Retrasib SA, will be fully completed in the first quarter of 2025”, according to Transelectrica.
The Reșita station is one of the most important transformation stations on the Banat Axis, from Portile de Fier, Reșita, Timișoara/Săcălaz to Arad, an axis that is the subject of a large project to develop the transport network in the western part of Romania.
With the transition of the Banat Axis to the voltage of 400 kV, an ongoing investment with European funding from the Modernization Fund, the electric transmission network and the interconnection with the ENTSO-E network in the south-west and west of Romania will be significantly strengthened, shows the company.
Transelectrica recorded, in the first nine months of 2024, a net profit of 410 million lei, an increase of 99 percent compared to the one obtained in the similar period of the previous year.
