Nuclearelectrica recorded a net profit of 1.7 billion RON in 2024, down 31.9 percent compared to 2023, with an operating income of 4.79 billion RON, down 36.9 percent, according to the report submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The company reported revenues from electricity sales of 4.6 billion RON in 2024, down 27.6 percent. Energy production was 10,019 GWh in 2024, like the previous year.
Starting with January 1, 2023, the Company is a seller within the Centralized Electricity Procurement Mechanism (“MACEE”).
The producer’s results can be attributed to lower prices for electricity sold. Thus, Nuclearelectriva sold relatively equal amounts of energy through the regulated MACEE mechanism and on the markets. However, the regulated price in MACEE was reduced from 450 to 400 RON/MWh from April 1, 2024, while the average price from market sales obtained by the company decreased by over 52 percent last year, to 449.2 RON/MWh.
