Eurowind Energy and Autoliv sign 12-year Power Purchase Agreement in Romania

Eurowind Energy and Autoliv, a worldwide leader in automotive safety systems, have entered a 12-year Power Purchase Agreement in Romania.
Autoliv aims to transition to 100% renewable energy sources for its electricity consumption. The new Virtual Power Purchase Agreement is an important step in reaching Autoliv’s climate targets.
“The project marks a significant milestone in our journey towards decarbonization, reinforcing our position as a sustainability leader in the automotive industry. Through the initiative, we support our ability to supply customers seeking sustainable products and we take a significant step forward in achieving our climate targets for the European operations”, says Magnus Jarlegren, President Autoliv Europe.
“PPAs are essential in developing new energy parks. Power Purchase Agreements with large, ambitious companies like Autoliv ensure the continuous development of new parks and a cleaner future for all of us,” says Jesper Schaumburg-Düring, Commercial Director at Eurowind Energy.
The agreement compasses a 12-year agreement of clean electricity from the 48 MW Wind park, Pecineaga in Romania. Upon completion, Pecineaga Wind Park will be generating an annual output of approximately 176,000 MWh, equivalent to the energy supply of 48,000 Romanian households. The park is expected to be operational by 2027.
