Antoniu Panait, Vastint Romania: “Our strategy is to build projects so that their value increases over time”
“Every community needs an integrator and that integrator is the municipality. Cluj-Napoca is a leader because the measures taken in recent years contribute to achieving everyone’s goal of having greener cities. To change a city you have to start with public transport. The cities are full of cars. A large part of the cars parked in the city are used very little. The future no longer belongs to owned cars. We can rent bikes or cars with app on our phones,” Antoniu Panait, Managing Director, Vastint Romania said during the Smart Transformation Forum organized by The Diplomat-Bucharest.
“We can imagine cities where the car park of 2 million cars is replaced by 500,000 cars that can be rented from different parts of the city. This is the future, but there are also intermediate steps. In big cities, parking in the city center is discouraged. Each measure must be implemented according to priorities. Public transport is the first to be improved,” he explained.
“We need to encourage investment in modern buildings and modern equipment for future buildings. We focus on development for the future. We build buildings from the perspective of the well-being of the employee and the employer. The COVID-19 crisis confirmed that we must be prepared for the future and that we must have a solid foundation for the developed buildings. We emphasize the safety of employees and our safety, we must be very careful about this aspect.
Our strategy is to build projects so that their value increases over time and brings a benefit to the communities in which we are present.”
