Courier company DPD expands operations in Arad, Bucharest, and Brasov with new warehouse facilities: JLL

The courier company DPD has closed new warehouse facilities in Arad, Bucharest, and Brasov, with a total area of ​​5,500 square meters. JLL represented DPD in the process of identifying the best solutions for expanding storage capacity, but also in negotiating leases.

The Romanian e-commerce market has the potential to record the highest growth in the European Union, this year, given that the pandemic has forced more and more retailers, which rely solely on the physical magazine, to migrate online.

This evolution also led to the growth of the courier business, the operators being thus very active on the industrial rental space market.

“This year, DPD has invested in new distribution centres in major cities in the country to ensure a faster response time and better coverage of different areas in the country. Thus, DPD, with the help of JLL, managed to stabilize its places in Romania, in cities such as Arad, Bucharest and Brasov, projects that complemented the existing ones in Timisoara and Iasi, “said Valentin Achim, consultant Industrial Department JLL Romania, which negotiated the contracts from DPD.

In the first nine months of the year, the demand for industrial and logistics spaces was almost 380,000 square meters, of which 46.2% (175,300 sqm) were intermediate transactions of JLL.

The courier company DPD Romania is part of DPD group, European leader in road deliveries, and has been active on the local market since 2008, after taking over Pegasus Courier.

DPD has over 1,800 employees (including franchises) and over 15 million packages delivered annually.
