Two thousand sign up for reloaded first-time buyer scheme
STIMULANT EFFECT Two thousand Romanians have obtained bank approval for the acquisition of dwellings through the reloaded first home scheme ‘Prima Casa 2’, according to the National Fund of Credit Guarantes for SMEs June 2010 - From the Print Edition
This scheme, active this year, allows first-time buyers to take out mortgages on new flats worth up to 75,000 Euro at attractive interest rates, due to a Government guarantee.
The Government hopes the scheme will kick-start the moribund real estate sales sector and ensure a lifeline for some construction companies threatened with bankruptcy.
The fund has so far received 2,400 requests for housing credits worth 88 million Euro. The Government has allotted a guarantee of 700 million Euro for this programme, compared to one billion Euro in 2009.
