10,000 new flats re-proposed for southwest
April 2011 - From the Print Edition
GHENCEA Romania’s Minister of Regional Development and Tourism Elena Udrea has announced the construction of 10,000 council flats in southwest Bucharest’s Ghencea neighbourhood, developed by the National Housing Agency (ANL). The project should also include one school, a police station, one nursery, shops and will be built on 180 hectares of land owned by the Minister of National Defence. Udrea estimates the cost of the project will be financed through public-private partnerships and by sales of existing ANL council homes to their tenants.
