Ikea contradicts rumor of opening a new facility in Romania

Swedish retailer Ikea denies the rumor that states the company might open a facility at Jucu or elsewhere in Romania.

Last week, county council officials in Cluj stated that a company with operations in wood and furniture might open a production unit within industrial park Tetarom 3 at Jucu. Local sources advanced the possibility of that this company being Ikea. The county authorities said that they plan to expand the industrial park Tetarom 3 at Jucu with 24 hectares, designed for a company operating in wood and furniture. Currently, within Tetarom 3, Bosch and DeLonghi operate.

Both companies started the operations within Tetarom 3 in 2013. According to official data, Tetarom 3 delivers currently 543.347 sqm available land for new business development, investments under 10 million Euros in public tender and investments worth over 10 million Euros in negotiation process.
As business services, the park offers: production of household appliances, auto parts production, mechanical engineering, logistics and data center.

The park features area of 1.540.000 sqm, operational status of 100%, occupancy of 55%, with tenants as De´Longhi, Robert Bosch, Transcarpatica, Karl Heinz Dietrich International Exped , Imperial and Holzart. It created over 1.500 jobs and the clients′ investments totaled over 200 million Euros.
