Locals lose as billion dollar gold mine stays in limbo

“This project affects my entire life in the Rosia Montana valley because I will have to leave my house and everything I know and own,” says landowner Eugen David.
Married to a local from the village and with one daughter, 45 year-old David and his family own a house and land on the planned platform of a billion-dollar gold-mine in Alba county, Transylvania.
“If the project goes ahead, it will pollute the environment where I will have to live,” he adds.
