Coaching - a journey one must never underestimate

If you are passionate about your work and you welcome challenges, but your company does not offer you any opportunities to grow, then you know it's time for a change The year 2008 was a turning point for me. After a lot of self-reflection, I knew it was time for me to move on and pursue my own interests. This time I was going to do it my way.

My days as an employee were over. I′d always believed in people′s potential, in their ability to follow their own path as long as they believed in themselves. This is how Yourway Counseling was born.

At the time I was dreaming high and I was eager to share my vision. Soon I discovered that many people thought coaching could help them reach their potential if they had the right tools. And that is what coaching does: it enables you to use your own resources to change your mindset so that you can meet your goals.

Yourway Counseling was a dream come true to me. Being my own boss and running my own business meant I was now responsible not just for myself, but for my team as well. I couldn't have done it had it not been for the passion, patience and love for what I did.
Running your own business is a bumpy road. You will face a lot of uncertainty and many ups and downs along the road. You'll have to juggle a lot of responsibilities. You can only be successful if you stay true to yourself, to your morals and values. As one of my former bosses used to say, you need to weigh in the consequences of your compromises. When I started this business I promised myself that no matter the hardships, I will never be anything but myself, that I will work hard to achieve the goals I believe in and I will always offer the quality of service that I would expect if I were the client. Michelangelo Buonarroti, the great Italian painter and sculptor is reported to have said "The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." This is my life motto.

The idea behind Yourway soon caught on. I was surprised to see how many people, of all ages, wanted to maximize their children's potential by discovering their inner strengths through assessments. On the other hand, the professional adults became interested in improving their own professional life and the other line of the business, Performanceway, growing quickly.
The two lines of business are closely intertwined. Hundreds of children and their families have passed through our doors and their success stories continue to inspire us.
At Performanceway, hundreds of coaching, consulting and facilitation hours have laid a solid foundation for personal fulfilment, career growth, and superior performance for young professionals, executives and people in top management positions.

The hundreds of hours of coaching sessions have offered me deep insights into the human mind and each business story has become a life lesson. The discretion and strength one needs to stay in the middle of events is a powerful mix of feelings for both a coach and a business consultant. I enjoy each and every single one of the adventures that the clients and I embark on. If I were to choose what I would want to do for the rest of my life, the one activity that I love the most and the one I would never give up no matter what, I would choose executive coaching in a heartbeat. To me there is nothing more fulfilling, more rewarding than showing people their full potential through coaching techniques. No project is like another, no person is like another and no story is like another. Every journey is different and each one of them allows you to learn from it and become a better version of yourself.

Over the years I loved writing down my reflections so that they can be used later on by people who are interested in life-work balance, organizational behaviours, the different roles we assume in our lives, in the relationships between employers and employees, or other such issues. Published in 2015, the book Vei muri de foame! [You Will Die of Hunger!] is a small collection of articles I had written in the first five years of entrepreneurship. Reading, writing, learning and improving myself have always been a part of me and I would never be able to separate them into personal and professional areas because that is just who I am.

Every year I set myself goals according to each role I play in YW - Yourway (owner and career architect), in PW - Performanceway (Executive coach and business consultant), in my family and in my own self-development. Our projects have become increasingly complex and we are now collaborating with more companies than ever before, from educational organizations to international firms in various industries from all around the globe.
At the end of the day any person who has ever worked with us can easily illustrate what Yourway and Performanceway stand for.
One of our younger mentees said that in Yourway and Performanceway we create true stories made up of unique doses of potential, passion and self-development. I think it sums up pretty nicely what we do here. You don't need to take his word for it, you can see it for yourself anytime.
