Pharma and healthcare heal real estate pain

HEALTH BOOST RENTS The office space area rented by medical service firms - including those in pharma and private healthcare - increased 2.5 times in the first ten months of 2010, against the first ten months of 2009, according to real estate consultants DTZ Echinox. In 2009 the medical services firms rented 9,000 sqm, seven per cent of the total 130,000 sqm office space transacted last year, while this year the sector rented 15 per cent of the total office space. This year the medical services firms rented 23,000 sqm of the total 155,000 sqm of office space rented by companies from the beginning of the year. Sanador, Centrul Medical Unirea (CMU), Novartis Pharma and Medlife were the main companies active in relocation or renting in the first ten months of the year, according to DTZ Echinox.
