The Glina wastewater treatment plant will purify the sewage from Bucharest and nearby towns such as Catelu and Manolache. Apa Nova has committed to invest in this project - in a first phase - almost EUR 40 million over a period of three years. A small hydropower plant and biogas unit have been built in Glina, designed to meet some of the station′s energy needs. A second phase of the project, which will also involve the extension of the plant, will start in Q1 of next year and will need EUR 350 million of investment.
