Metrorex opens today the offers for execution works at subway line 4
Romanian subway company Metrorex announced it would open today the offers submitted by the companies to execute the workings for the tronson comprised in the subway line 4, to link Parc Bazilescu – Laminorului and Lac Straulesti. March 2012
According to the company, the workings are represented by contruction of the underground tunnel, the gallery and the stations, with a completion date estimated within 42 months. The contract is estimated at RON 935.5 million. Some EUR 16 million (RON 66.79 mln) will be assigned from the state budget for equipments and expropriations pocedures, Metrorex representatives said. This year, the company has five investment priorities targeting the expansion of subway infrastructure with new lines and routes. Metrorex will invest around EUR 112 million in the fifth line, Drumul Taberei – Universitate – Pantelimon, in 2012, to build the structure for 10 stations and a depot unit, through co-financing following an agreement with the European Investment Bank. The same co-financing scheme will cover the construction of facilities such as interior and exterior lifts for disabled passengers, under a contract worth almost EUR 12 million. The modernization works scheduled for lines 1 and 3, totaling 27 stations, will be accomplished this year for the similar sum of EUR 12 million, which will cover six stations from the total.
