BRD will receive EUR 30 million from EBRD to finance energy efficiency projects

European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will assign EUR 30 million financings for BRD Groupe Societe Generale, in order to sustain the investments in power efficiency projects. The EBRD financing targets investments of up to EUR 1 million for SMEs for projects in energy but also, larger projects of up to EUR 5 million for energy infrastructure, including buildings. According to Sylvia Gansser-Potts, EBRD manager for financial institutions – banks EU, the Romanian municipalities and local companies state larger costs regarding energy compared with Western European countries. The EUR 30 million is split as EUR 20 million represent financings for SMEs within RoSEFF - Romanian SME Sustainable Energy Financial Facility, while EUR 10 million credit line target the financing facility for municipalities EU /EBRD.
