Vidra-Obarsia Lotrului, set to become one of the largest ski slopes in Romania
More than 100 workers are currently labouring 12 hours a day to build one of the largest ski slopes in Romania, in the Parang Mountains, Valcea county. Worth EUR 34 million, the ski slope is located 40 kilometres from Voineasa, and is scheduled to become operational by end-2013. October 2012 - From the Print Edition
The contract was signed in December 2010, but works did not start until one year later. "The area where the ski slope was supposed to be built was forest land. We had to wait one year for it to be removed from the Forest Law circuit," Jena Iliescu, Juridical Counsellor at the Voineasa Town Hall (the beneficiary of the project), told The Diplomat - Bucharest.
