World Bank’s DoingBusiness report on 2014: Romania ranks 73rd ot of 189 countries
Romania maintains the same ranking as in the last year DoingBusiness Report of WorldBank, that takes into account the macro economy data and entrepreneurship fiscal and economic indicators to establish how welcoming a country is for foreign companies and investors in terms of doing business.

Romanian performance slightly evolved since last year, gaining 0.48 points to reach 65.11 points due to several improvements for: startups, tax payments and contract enforcement. The report highlighted that Romania has simplified the process of starting a business by transferring the registration certificate from the Trade Registry Tax Administration. Romania has made it easier and cheaper fees reducing the frequency of payments once a quarter to twice year contracts. Also, Romania has simplified compliance by adopting a new code of civil procedure and expedites any legal proceedings.
Worldwide, the most welcoming country for doing business as it ranked first is Singapore, followed by Hong Kong, New Zeeland, US and Denmark. Within European countries, Greece climbed on 72nd place, from 78th occupied in the last year report. As expected, the countries where political and severe war happenings altered the social and business context, made the bottom of the list, as Syria, ranking on 165th and falling from 144th.
